Hi, I’m Alyssa, and I’m so glad you’re here.

As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is to create a space where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued. I believe that each person’s journey is unique, and I strive to walk alongside others as they navigate the challenges and joys of life. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in respect for individual experiences. I’m passionate about helping people connect with their inner strengths and find paths toward growth, healing, and balance.

I was born and raised in Colorado and have always felt a deep connection to this beautiful state. I attended the University of Denver for both my undergraduate degree and master’s degree in counseling, which solidified my passion for helping others. I’ve known I wanted to be a therapist from a young age and discovered a deep desire to support others during their most challenging times through volunteer work with hospices in both high school and college. Over the years, I’ve continued to serve others, including hospice work in Tanzania, working as a case manager for Colorado AIDS Project, and current work as a disaster mental health volunteer for American Red Cross.

My personal and professional philosophy has also been deeply influenced by meditation. Practicing Vipassana meditation since 2007 has taught me the importance of self-awareness, presence, and compassion—qualities I bring into every therapeutic interaction. Meditation has strengthened my ability to hold space for others, remain grounded in challenging moments, and approach each person’s journey with openness and nonjudgment. It has also deepened my belief in mindfulness as a powerful tool for fostering resilience and healing.

As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand the unique challenges and triumphs that come with navigating identity, acceptance, and belonging. My personal journey has shaped my commitment to fostering an inclusive and affirming environment where everyone feels safe to be their authentic selves. I am passionate about advocating for equality and representation, and I bring this dedication to my work by offering a space that celebrates diversity and respects the individuality of each person.

Outside of work, I find joy and balance in staying active, being outdoors, and always learning something new. CrossFit has become a big part of my life—not just because it keeps me strong but because it clears my head and helps me face challenges with a little more determination. Spending time in nature is another way I recharge. Whether I’m hiking, camping, or just taking a quiet walk in the woods, being outside helps me slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with myself and the world around me. I’m also a devoted reader and lifelong learner, always looking to expand my perspective. I welcome book recommendations of all kinds—whether it’s a thought-provoking memoir or a guilty-pleasure thriller, I’m here for it.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of people, approaching each person’s journey with curiosity and care. I have a deep and earnest desire to get to know others, to understand their unique stories, and to walk alongside them in a meaningful way. It is an honor to be a small part of someone’s journey, and I would be grateful for the opportunity to support you in yours.

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
